The West Tennessee Quarter Horse Association was organized January 12, 1979 as a
non-profit organization with the principle place of business of the Association being Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee but its members may be residents of any state, territory, or county, and business may be carried on at any place convenient to such members or officials as may be participating. Only bonafide residents of West Tennessee may hold office in this Association.West Tennessee is defined as all of Tennessee located west of the Tennessee River.
WTQHA holds all of its AQHA sponsored shows at the West Tennessee Agriculture Pavilion. The building is a multi-purpose facility consisting of 82,000 square feet. It contains a 24,000 square foot arena and seats 3,000 people. A 153 stall barn is adjacent to the pavilion. The building is officially named the McWherter Agriculture Complex.
